TSUBAMI / PRACTICAL GUIDE

What survives a browser-only PDF conversion?

Choose between editable words, spreadsheet cells and page appearance.

Selectable text and scanned pages differ

Try selecting a sentence in your regular PDF reader. A text-based PDF may contain words that can be extracted. A scan can contain only a picture of the page, unless OCR has already added a text layer. Tsubami does not run OCR, translate text or use an AI model.

Word export prioritizes editable words

PDF to Word creates a DOCX containing extracted paragraphs. Original images, tables, fonts, page design and exact pagination are not reconstructed. Use it when you want to edit the words, and plan to review reading order and rebuild the formatting.

Excel export groups text by position

PDF to Excel creates one worksheet per selected page and groups text by line and horizontal position. It does not reliably recover complex tables, merged cells, numeric data types or formulas. Check every column before relying on the workbook for calculations.

PowerPoint export preserves appearance as a picture

PDF to PowerPoint renders one page image per slide. The whole image can be positioned or replaced in a presentation editor, but its text and graphics are not separate editable objects. Choose PDF to JPG or PNG if you only need the page images.

Office and HTML exports simplify layout

DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, CSV and local HTML conversions export readable text into a simple image-only PDF layout. They omit original artwork, charts, complex styles and exact pagination. Spreadsheet formula results use stored values rather than recalculation. When exact design is essential, export from the application that created the document.

Forms and signatures need their own checks

Fill PDF works with supported interactive AcroForm fields, rather than visually detecting blank lines in a scan. Sign PDF adds a typed, drawn or uploaded signature appearance; it does not issue a certificate, verify a signer or provide invitations and an audit trail. Check the recipient’s requirements before choosing a workflow.

Tools for this job
